  • Yeah, that creamsicle is chef’s kiss; definitely my favorite.

As a Nightshift Psychopath™ my caffeine dependencies are a bit different than “normal” people who drink coffee and don’t get accused of Vampirism. A buddy of mine used to make “pixie stix” out of C4 powder & Boba Straws for the times you get voluntold into a 16hr shift.

I haven’t reached that point yet, but I’ve thought about it more than I thought I would.

  • There was a video I watched years ago that had people run normal, the Naruto run.

Nonathletes were faster Naruto style, athletes were faster normal style.

They broke it down as if you’re not used to “controlling” your body for performance, forcing yourself into a weird form forces you to focus more so you don’t fall, so you get a bit more effort without realizing it.

As a caffeine connoisseur, the “high end” energy drinks designed as pre-work out are all sugar free to prevent the terrible crash & stored sugar energy reserves. Was a night and day difference when I switched.

Bang, Reign, & C4 are the dedicated brands, Rockstar X-Durance is another popular one.

  • I would say this is great news all around. With SteamOS pushing the Linux market share higher than it’s ever been, and a partnership with Arch to boost direct development, this could mean other companies taking a hard look at Linux and either developing native software or ensuring proton compatibility out of the gate.

I’m imagining “Runs on Arch” markers on software like the old “Works on Windows '95” stickers I used to see everywhere.

  • I agree & I’m old enough to have played all the Metroid games when they were released.

The biggest problem with Dread is there’s a million games that have released since the last 2D Metroid that have done so much more with the genre that the name isn’t pulling it’s weight like it once did, and they forgot to innovate.

They tried to recapture the “oh shit” feeling of encountering X from Fusion in Dread, but the quick-time instakill events just made it tedious and annoying.

The GBA/DS Castlevania games are all 8/10+ if you’re a fan of metroidvanias and a collection recently released on Steam/Switch. They all take the same formula and change things to make it feel familiar, but different, and give you plenty of things to go back for after you’re “done”.

Finishing Dread became a chore about 2/3 through, it just stops being fun.

I’m waiting incredibly impatiently for Hollow Knight: Silksong, as Hollow Knight is pretty much the game all Metroidvanias is compared to at this point and it is top notch.

  • It’s all part of the “obscenity” laws that keep getting passed, making porn sites verify ages and all that BS. Other platforms don’t want to be seen as obscene, so they censor content in order to not lose a shitton of traffic.

    Hence the rise of “un-alive”…

I miss the Wild West days when teachers would go to whitehouse.com and show a room full of 8 year olds a naked blonde with full bush & Q-cup tits.
