Because apparently, the US caves with ATACMS. I swear Olaf Scholz is tough as nails. He forces the US to deliver the stuff they want to withhold. He managed to get the US to cave at Abrams (even though they still delayed them until now!), now he gets him to cave at this.
I’ve never heard anyone call Scholz “tough as nails” before, but if this helps get the ball rolling with ATACMS that would be fantastic!

Well too bad that it’s true. When Olaf Scholz still said “No Leopards until the US sends Abrams”, the Biden administration said “it’s too expensive, it’s too hard to train on, it’s too hard to maintain, it needs jet fuel”.
That doesn’t sound like someone who wants to deliver Abrams. If Joe Biden wanted to donate Abrams tanks and force Scholz to agree to Leopard’s in exchange, he’d say so, and Olaf Scholz would be the one saying “too complicated dude”.
By the way, why are those Abrams arriving only now? And why did the US not agree on Patriot, after Germany already delivered IRIS-T SLM? And why does the US care so much about Ukraine getting a few of the 150 german Taurus, when it has 4500 ATACMS it supposedly wants to deliver?
