A Trump victory would likely lead to the US departing NATO, stepping back from a LOT of agreements with a LOT of allies, and essentially put the US into an isolationist mode, which would be idiotic in a lot of ways, for a lot of reasons. Not to mention, would likely yield a HUGE general increase in the general prevalence of conflict around the world, and land/power grabs by the CCP and Putin.

It wasnt even for dirt. They just wanted the investigation announced so they could make hay of it. They didn’t say ‘quietly open an investigation and let us know what you find’ they said ‘announce you are investigating him’.
