I’ve noticed that some of my accounts on other lemmy instances have local settings that let me auto-expand images. Is that something lemmy.world plans to implement as well? This is my main account, so I’d like to be able to quickly browse image-based communities on it.
Until it’s implemented here, the LemmyTools userscript adds a “Show All Images” button and a “Automatically open image posts” option. I don’t use that option and when I tested I got mixed results, if it doesn’t work properlly, you can open an Issue on their repo, ot go to their community: !lemmytools@thesimplecorner.org
Thanks for the recommendation! Looks like LemmyTools’ button doesn’t work too well - it only opens about half of the images - but when I looked for other usercripts I found Lemmy Image Expand, which seems to work a lot better!

Good catch! We are in the very early days of the fediverse. We should expect it to be a bit clumsy for a while. The good part is that things will probably improve a lot soon :).
Hey I appreciate you checking out lemmytools and providing an alternative to how I’m doing it. I know my implementation wasn’t perfect (sort of all or half) which would happen if you had already expanded an image on the page and probably other ways. I see how that script is working and is implementated much better. Thank you. I’ll try and implement that method in lemmytools.
I’ve never develop anything before in any capacity similar to this so I’m learning!
