Both sides have said the same thing and offered peace deals that the other side is unwilling to accept, doesn’t really matter if neither side wants to negotiate. Sucks that the civilians just have to suffer while two assholes fight it out.

Yeah, I assume in general that nothing on the internet ever goes away. At least makes it somewhat more annoying though.
i did the thing that means it’s probably less archived (by editing all the replies before deleting), but i assume some of it probably remains out there. Nothing I can do about that.
One thing i miss about Lemmy is shittymorph tbf
Glad I deleted everything on there. fucking hell.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO :(
If you die you’re technically away from everyone.
Hamas is a real government, and is in charge of Gaza — the PA is not in charge of Gaza. It is also a terrorist organisation, and is also basically not democratically elected. But the people of Gaza should not be held responsible for their government’s folly and terrorism. But it is important to recognise that de facto Hamas is the government of Gaza.
Netanyahu is fucked, probably… but it is worth noting that he has gotten out of shit like this before. And a lot of Israel supports this war, while also hating Netanyahu — hence “end of the war”.
https://time.com/6333781/israel-hamas-poll-palestine/ According to this article from earlier last week, “57.5% of Israeli Jews said that they believed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) were using too little firepower in Gaza, 36.6% said the IDF was using an appropriate amount of firepower”.
In my opinion, that’s something that is even more significant than the fact that as long as the war continues, Netanyahu will be in power unless he gets assassinated (which, given the region’s history, is certainly possible to be fair, but usually comes from the right). Sure, replace him. Gantz will still pursue this war, Ben Gvir would probably nuke Gaza if he could help it, and a lot of MKs would still want something like this. Hell, even Lapid says there can’t be Hamas in Gaza after this. Every politician (except probably from Labour / Israeli Arab parties) will support this war, because the people demand it.
Israel’s clearly taking this war in a different direction from usual, unfortunately — based on what they’re saying at least, it seems the intent is to eradicate Hamas and deal with the consequences later
Time for a genocide. And no one’s going to stop them. Fucking hell.
Some of my friends have suggested that there might not be a Gaza to fight for independence for in a few years. I didn’t believe them, but now it definitely looks more possible…
We’re on the Earth — how do we see the Earth? By seeing other parts of the Earth that aren’t ourselves. The same is somewhat true for the Milky Way. And like on Earth, you can’t see the whole thing without leaving it, because we only get to see the stuff that isn’t blocked by other things.
Fun fact from the same Wikipedia page: he actually picked the name Gay as a translation from Fröhlich, meaning “happy”
daily mail is shit so grain of salt but that sounds incredibly stupid if true
Not every Catholic is a liar, lol
That being said, would not surprise in the slightest if he’s a spy; just curious about the timing… there’s definitely spies from every country that has any in China, the US etc.
Projection… :)
I’d rather this as well, but we don’t have that many choices. The slower we act and the more we let perfect be the enemy of good, the more people die.
To be specific, growing the types of trees we would want for such a thing in such an amount that it would deal with the problems we have, assuming we stop growth of CO2 and assuming we stop burning the Amazon, would take around a hundred years.
“It could take more than a hundred years to add enough mature forest to get sufficient levels of carbon reduction. Meanwhile 40 billion tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) from burning fossil fuels are being added to the atmosphere every year, said Glen Peters, research director at Norway’s Center for International Climate Research.”
And need an area the size of the United States. I wasn’t joking about a second Amazon.
I read “brutish” as “british” on first glance
