Wish I could be of more help. I’ve had two different types of generic instant release and they both tasted lightly sweet and went down with 0 issues . Maybe I got lucky haha. Idk if name brand or generic makes much of a difference price-wise for you but you could always try parachuting your pills (without crushing them obv) to put a barrier between your tongue and the pill

Yes, however, do beat the absolute piss out of the limes. The granulated sugar is there to act as an abrasive as well as draw the oils out of the lime rind

My favorite mojito recipe:

• 2 Oz (60 ml) white rum

• 1/2 Oz (15 ml) rich demerara syrup (2:1 sugar to water ratio)

• 1 lime, quartered

• a goodly amount of fresh mint, ~10-12 leaves

• a little bit of sugar

• ~2 Oz (60 ml) soda water

Build:

Put a little sugar in your glass, chuck the lime and mint in, muddle.

After you’re done muddling, fill your glass with ice

Add a splash of soda water (not the whole 2 Oz), rum and syrup, stir until chilled

Too the glass up with soda water, stir again to incorporate the soda

Garnish with a fresh mint sprig

Notes: I really like Planteray 3 star or flor de cana 4 for this recipe. Planteray has an earthier flavor while the flor de cana has a more fruity/tropical vibe. If you don’t have access to demerara sugar, you can use light brown or raw sugar for a substitute.

I was a roofer for a few years. In Florida, a state with some of (if not the) the most strict roof codes in the country. It’s perfectly ok to layer shingles like that and was common practice for a good while. I’ve torn off houses with 4+ layers of shingles several times and had the decking be just fine underneath them. You have no idea what you’re talking about

I’m ideologically opposed to party and institutional politics on a foundational level. The fact that people are forced to compromise on their values, the “lesser of two evils” system, the whole “closest to your values” thing is a horrible way to approach politics. I understand that but they’re still in the party. AOC and Omar are Social Democrats but they still run under the Democrat ticket, for example. On the right we see a mix of right libertarians, fascists, Christian nationalists, white nationalists, esoteric fascistss, and neo-monarchists (I’m sure I’m missing a few), but they’re all running under the Republican ticket because our two party system is broken and incapable of capturing the sheer depth and diversity of political ideologies within the country. The labels of democrat and republican are largely useless on an interpersonal basis and only vaguely useful on a systemic scale.

I’m an anarchist but my voter registration says democrat because I checked that box when I was 18 and never bothered changing it. You’d be “right” to call me a democrat, but only to a superficial and largely unimportant degree. I’m sure there are republicans in a similar situation as well and people who may be closer to democrats but choose to vote Republican due to specific policy issues. Abortion is one that comes to mind. It may be hard to believe but there truly are people out there who only care about abortion and otherwise have no strong political opinions outside of that. They would be a better fit for Republicans than Democrats. Again, the 2 party system is fucked and splitting hairs over people who don’t nearly fit into one of the boxes (which is 99.9% of people) is a pointless distraction
