So, Trump gets a pass on what happened to the Kurds?
So, Trump gets a pass on what happened to the Kurds?
Can’t say for sure, but Hillary is an old-school politician who tries to create consensus. Trump is a fire breather who thrives on controversy.
Or, people could look at the situation as it is.
Trump and his MAGoos are going to do everything they can to take as many rights away from people as they can.
In the real world of 2024, the only option is Joe Biden.
There’s no magical super candidate that’s going to pop up between now and November.
With the latest Supreme Court decision, re-elected President Trump could deputize 5 million of his followers on Inauguration Day.
You don’t have to love Joe Biden, or even like him. Just realize that Trump is for full on fascist takeover of the US and Biden isn’t.
Keep at it. You learn by doing something; making a mistake; then doing it again a little better.
The only way to change the conditions of the test is to get out and support Left-leaning Dems in primaries.
And no, not all choices are valid. Voting doesn’t just affect the voter, it affects the whole country.
The one I mentioned is a 2010 series from the BBC I just saw on BritBox streaming service.
I saw that one after I saw the 2016 version with Elijah Wood.
So the older version was ‘new’ to me.
Sorry for any confusion.
I’m going to assume that you’re being sarcastic.
For those who think this is an option, remember that the MAGoos vote in every election.
You’re ignoring the fact that people have been opting out of voting for decades.
People in 1968 couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Humphrey, and we got Nixon.
They couldn’t bear Jimmy Carter, and we got Reagan.
“Both sides are the same” is the Right’s best pal.
The latest version of Dirk Gently has an episode where the Pentagon is desperately searching for the most powerful computer program on Earth.
You type in your conclusion, say “I want to invade Switzerland” and the program will search the entire interwebs to come up with a logical, fact based analysis that explains why it’s a reasonable thing to do.
So, explain how not voting assures us that we don’t get Trump again.
Have you checked the maker’s site?
That’s why I stick with real world examples.
For example, the minimum wage in 1960 was $1.00/hour. The cost of the average home was $11,000.00
Stop looking at those ‘inflation adjustors’ and look at what you could actually buy.
Average rent per month in Los Angeles in 1990 was under $600.00/month
Today it’s over $2,000.00
If he paid her five months rent today, it would be $10,000.00, not $7,000.00
The problem is that I can’t just explain to the technically uneducated people that I changed mail providers. How should I go about doing this?
Speaking as a nontech person, I can assure you that none of us care in the slightest.
Just give us the new address and we’ll change it. We might curse you for making us do the work, but probably we’ll feel like badasses when we do it in only three hours.
That’s a whole other issue.
in my opinion, Bush Jr. was going to invade Iraq no matter what. 9/11 was just the excuse.
Which is why you vote against the GOP in every election.
They have been wrong about everything since Nixon.
Oil man Cheney wanted to open Afghanistan to a pipeline project.
Gore probably would have used special ops teams to locate and extract bin Ladn.
Also, the Taliban destroyed statues of the Buddha that had stood for centuries. That happened in March of 2001. The Bush administration didn’t want to hurt the oil deal, so they let the Taliban go ahead. Gore might have done more to stop the destruction. Seeing America take a firm stand on a minor issue might have deterred the Afghans from allowing bin Ladn to hide there.
Another thing. There was a report issued before the 9/11 attack. If Gore had been President, the White House might have acted to stop the attack.
Afghanistan was protecting bin Ladn. I think any President would have taken action.
Agreed.
I see people posting questions about life in the 1970s and wonder, “Don’t you know any one who was around then?”
