My theory is that it will never stop making money because they want less people in society in general, it’s a way of trying to kill people off without actually having to do it yourself. As the number of people shrinks due to poverty and being unable to feed themselves, basically mass homelessness, and only the elite few surviving, those elite few won’t have to do anything because they already had tons of money, and now AI can do all the hard work that they were too proud to do before. So I think it’ll always be profitable. Just not for everyone.
This is a very insensitive and honestly silly comment to make. What makes you think people aren’t budgeting? They would have to in order to survive in the world that we live in now but there are major costs that we can’t control for example rising housing and rent. Even if we stopped dining out every single day forever, and never got sodas or drinks or anything like that, it would still be a struggle to survive because the price of groceries keeps going up due to corporate greed, it has absolutely nothing to do with people not budgeting. When you budget, and things keep rising in that budget, that’s a huge issue
For example, if I budgeted 100% of my income out as 30% groceries, 70% savings, from the year 2005 to 2024, The percentage for groceries would dramatically increase. It would go 30% groceries in 2005, 45% groceries in 2015, 57% groceries in 2024. As you can see, in this simple example, I’m not buying more groceries or changing my investment or budget. All I’m buying is groceries, and the cost of groceries keeps rising infinitely without my pay rising. This is the problem with the idea that budgeting can help you.
Sorry, didn’t intend for it to sound man and realized afterwards. I edited that part out. Read my other response. I don’t believe it’s as easy to unionize here in the USA as it is in Denmark. Denmark is extremely restrictive with immigration and is such a tiny country. If they started losing workers in a large number it would be very difficult for them to replace them. In the USA, we have 50 states, and incredible amount of land mass. People move around quite a bit for jobs, and when people start unionizing, they just fire everyone or make everyone terrified to lose their job. Just look at what happened with The Home Depot, largest hardware store in the USA. Basically, Home Depot lobbies strongly against it and provides severe amounts of misinformation to mislead people into thinking that they’re going to be a lot worse off, that they’ll get rewarded for voting against unions. These people are basically fighting against themselves and trying as hard as they can to screw each other over in hopes of a reward that never comes. And it’s totally perfectly legal, companies can basically paint unions as a nightmare that you will never recover from
Sure, but what’s your idea for fixing that? It works in Germany where it’s extremely difficult to gain citizenship and immigration is extremely tight but in the USA when there are countless millions of people ready to fill in your job, and constant turnover due to the amount of people that live in the USA and the expensiveness of the country, what is your solution?
You need to organise yourselves better into unions. Then, you strike until you get what you deserve.
It’s a system of bargaining. But if you have nothing that they don’t already have, you can’t bargain. How can you unionize, when they have so many applicants they can just fire you or outsource you to India and your government will never stand up for you? It’s not possible. COLLECTIVE bargaining. It doesn’t work if a few people do it, and I can’t control others.
A bunch of juvenile D-Linkuents. Get it? D-Link? Nevermind…
This is what happens when you have monopoly status. They’re too big to fail.
T Mobile is fucking insane too. Their prices for unlimited plans are just crazy. Easily $100 a month for a family plan
I honestly cannot trust game reviewers after seeing some of the reviews for this exceptional game. What game has ever had a successful issue-free launch in the past 4 years? I can’t think of a single one. But all of a sudden they are holding this one to a much higher standard, like where the fuck was that when Starfield came out? Hundreds upon hundreds of fake, completely inflated reviews claiming it was perfect in every single way.
Tbh If I had a friend who has it on Steam I’d probably try it through library sharing but I don’t.
Do you like the latest updates? The way the game is headed?
Is your last name is Lizzard? /s
I prefer not to think about how could life be different now if I had not started this game…
I used to think like this. It took me a while to realize it wouldn’t be different at all. You gotta take care of yourself in life and that includes your mental health and well-being. Sometimes that’s playing a game you love
But like what are you doing Starfield for that long? I feel like after 25 hours I had seen and experienced everything that there was to offer. What else is there left to do?
Thanks for providing this really detailed and interesting reply. Lots of good insight here. For the ‘Postgraduate degree’ group, I wonder if they’re dramatically higher due to the frustrating problems associated with name changes? Like if you publish an academic paper with your full name, you can’t easily go back and change it, so that may affect it… huh.
Great list! I’ve tried Dota 2 as well, it’s definitely extremely complex and addictive but not my kind of game, I just cannot thrive and enjoy that sort of game. Same goes with League of Legends. Just not my cup of tea.
I am a little curious about Stellaris though. That game seems so incredibly complex, like, what about it is The draw for people? I’ve heard so many people talk about it and has so many freezy steam reviews but when I first tried it as a demo, it seemed so absurdly complex That my head was spinning. Like I had no idea what the heck was going on. I’m not sure how to enjoy it I guess
You are very brave for playing Starfield for 1,000 hours. I gave up after 25 hours when I completed the entire quest line and started new game plus. Literally couldn’t do it. Went and played some No Man’s sky, and now that’s becoming my new addiction
Threads is honestly terrible. There are these asinine little widgets on Instagram that show you threads that people have posted and don’t show you the full one so you click see more and it brings you to the app store. But no one really uses it much, so you see a lot of things being posted with no interaction at all
People still play Fallout 4? What are you doing the game? I beat it like years ago but don’t know how to enjoy it if I played it again today
When your entire society revolves around working for a salary or for getting paid, that’s why you can’t take care of the old people. Now suppose AI automates a lot of stuff and we have time for taking care of older people… How are we supposed to do that without jobs? That’s the problem
