I recommend going to a pawn shop. They likely have a variety of late model controllers. You can then hold them and see which speaks to you. I bought a ps5 controller from a pawn shop for like $50 over a year ago and I’ve loved it. I use it over Bluetooth with steam and I get rumble and all that.
I use a ps5 controller on pc and get rumble? Even the weirdo trackpad in the middle works like a cursor.

Which I’ve been saying into the void for a while. Ideally in capitalism demand drives supply. If their demand is lack luster (for people upgrading to premium), rather than trying to cajole people through force into buying their product, they should drop the fucking price. Instead, they want to keep it bundled with music, and thus make it prohibitively expensive, while simultaneously competing in two seperate markets simultaneously. Give the people a video only tier, at a truly reasonable price, and begin (read: continue) to rake in cash. It’s very frustrating.
Well, from a purely imperical viewpoint, it kind of is. Pros: a criminal is captured and potentially made to suffer in some way, which somehow balances out the cosmic scales of justice or something; this high ranking criminal can be plumbed for information, which has many assets seizing and additional criminal capturing implications. Cons: there is no reduction in criminal activity; there is actually an increase in violence and volatility; the power vacuum will inevitably be filled and essentially all the clandestine infiltration/investigation work up to this point resets to square one. Could be someone better, could be someone worse, but absolutely will be someone.

The first issue that comes to mind is the noncompressible nature of water. If you’ve ever played in a pool and marveled at how clearly you can hear a digital watch beep all the way from the other end, you can scale this up for any pressure wave. With very unpleasant results.

Owning a house: to an extent traps you in a physical location. Your job pool is smaller, and everyone you like who doesn’t own a home eventually moves away. As a bonus, the longer that pattern goes on, the older you get, and the more difficult to replace the departed becomes.
No kids: You seem pretty upset about global warming and the economy. Not having children has to be one of the single most impactful environmental choices you can make. I don’t have figures but your carbon footprint has to be a fraction of anyone with kids. Also, if systematic collapse is as inevitable and imminent as you suspect, it’s a good thing you don’t have any kid(s) for to be exploited by Tina Turner into fighting to the death in a big iron cage.

I left Reddit to call their bluff. I stay away from Reddit because I want to help grow the fediverse. It’s already better than when I joined. And I believe, perhaps naively, that it will continue to get better. I’d rather be the part of the beginning of something great than lingure around as a great thing rots.
Dishonored 2 took me hours upon hours to get to run properly due to some sort of processor, gfx card, driver, directx, zodiac sign, poltergeist , whirlpool of death that I couldn’t ever seem to conquer. After absolutely decimating my computer, reinstalling every, and I mean EVERYTHING, windows, drivers, firmwares, replacing ram, sacrificing goats, it fiiiiiinally ran. The trouble shooting portion essentially ruined a week or two of my life, but once it was running I had a great time. That game is the bomb.
I’m going to disagree with most of these comments. They don’t protect the prong so much as they protect the cord or other objects in the cords vicinity (painted surfaces, fragile surfaces, etc). The little plastic cap that covers tire stems on cars and bikes , while keeping it clean when installed, are primary to prevent chaffing issue on the inner tube whike shipped and stored; same thing with this prong shroud. They have holes in them as to not retain moisture I imagine.
Long story short, the prongs are metal and have corners. They are the strongest, “sharpest” thing in the box. The plastic isn’t protecting the prongs from us, it’s protecting us from the prongs.
