Idk the webpage doesn’t load, or i get some kind of weird error, or it seems to load but the persons profile shows they have no posts. Refreshing after a minute usually fixes it. But bluesky always loads faster in FF mobile and it seems much more reliable.
I think the difference is that there is not really a Netflix-without-the-ads alternative for the same price. And if you are willing to pay a bit more, well, you can just pay for the higher tier of Netflix without ads.
With browsers on the other hand, it’s all free with virtually no barrier to switching. So I think people will defect away a lot more quickly when a browser starts to worsen in quality (especially since Chrome doesn’t have Daddy Microsoft to force users to use it by default)
I never post, but I do follow a couple of channels on bluesky and mastodon. Bluesky always just works. Mastodon breaks all the freaking time.

Because bystanders were not deliberately targeted by the pager attack. They were collateral. If I launch 20 rockets at a military base and a couple of them go astray and several civilians are killed, that is not a terrorist attack, even if I was aware of the possibility of that happening. Should I have been more careful? Maybe, but that is a different discussion. If I launch those rockets at a marketplace with the intention of killing/terrorizing civilians, that would be a terrorist attack. And that is the difference between the pager attack and Oct 7: intent.
Which requirements are they missing, that are applicable to the pager attack?
There’s plenty of precedent for that though. HSA money, personal mobile device usage, credit for using mass transit… they are compensating specific things. Food is a bit odd to be honest; I’m not sure why they don’t just pay you cash.

Eh that is a thing for paranoid parents. Your family meets with a bunch of other families in a parking lot and the kid can go from trunk to trunk collecting candy. Prevents axe murderers from putting razor blades in the candy or whatever. It certainly hasn’t replaced trick or treating overall but it does seem more common.

Yeah except OP already said they don’t use Google anymore, presumably because they got fed up with it. As the expression goes, pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered. If Google has bogged down the web search experience so much that people are defecting then they’ve gone too far.
You can also add an extension for firefox/ ff mobile. Search for udm14 and you’ll find it. Keep in mind this also kills things that are more useful like sports schedules, calculator, time in different cities etc. that Google does automatically. So if I want that I just open an incognito tab to bypass the extension.
