I switched to Tidal and love it.

Israeli policy is to not report missile hits so they can claim Iron Dome works 1000% perfectly.
Also, we all forget he tried to gin up a war with Iran in his first term. Wartime presidents tend to stay in power, and he knows this - wartime protests would also give him an excuse to use the military at home like the blunt instrument he sees them as.
Arguably, the list alone, plus the customized police vehicle and police outfit, would be enough premeditation.
It’s what’s known as “cultural genocide”. You saw this most prominently with American, Canadian, and Mexican residential schools, as well as literally everything the British did in Ireland - you take the kids away from their heritage when they’re young and basically drown them in their colonizer’s heritage. You punish them for speaking about their old lives, speaking their native cultural tongue, or doing anything to associate with their old life. You do this severely, frequently, publicly and without ceasing. Eventually the kid “forgets” about their old culture as a defense mechanism, and they generally don’t know enough to pass on those traditions, culture, or language.
Legally, this is a recognized definition of genocide. Russia has made it clear since before the war started that they don’t want to content themselves with simply killing Ukrainian soldiers or occupying Ukrainian lands, their ultimate goal is the elimination of the CONCEPT of Ukraine as anything but part of Russia.
I think he’ll try bigger and simply try to nationalize or end licensing for the big 4.
You’re missing the point. The admin has full control over spectrum licensing. This means Trump could easily have the FCC just revoke all other spectrum licenses for cellphone comms, and just forcibly seize those towers. Don’t look at it like it’s going to operate like a corporation, because I promise you it won’t.
See, here’s the thing when you’re the President. You can just have your FCC chair shut them down. You can actively quash literally any boundaries to being a monopoly, and nobody can do anything about it (from a legal or regulatory standpoint).
Actually, I think so. Remember that this guy wanted to gun down the Floyd protests not because he didn’t like the politics, but according to him, “good presidents don’t have riots”. He was willing to kill thousands of people just to preserve his own mental image of himself.
My governor has said he’s not sending in troops anywhere (after someone asked), but considering the EO allows the SecDef to literally send troops anywhere they feel is a “disruption of public order” in whatever quantity and capacity he deems fit, and considering Hegseth seems to be pretty much an administration hand puppet at this point…I’ll still go, but I’m definitely planning on knowing my escape routes just in case.
Yup. It’s just engineers telling it to concoct a scenario in which it would avoid being shut down at cost of human life.
Also, civil resistance historically only works because there were people sitting there saying “well yeah THEY’RE nonviolent, but if we don’t get our change soon…”
Moreover, like Hollywood, the gaming industry is largely run by people who truly do not understand the thing they’re there to make. All of the C-levels still think it’s the early 2000s where you could shit out anything that looked like a popular game and make 20 billion dollars from it. They think their entire market is dumb kids who will mindlessly play whatever is put in front of them without regard to polish, story, or even playability.
Or you get a way to craft them and can make the most broken bullshit imaginable (Skyrim).
Yeah, the training for these includes “well here’s what not to do wink”.
Oh, Russia has an idea of their envisioned future. They even have a checklist for it.
Unfortunately, a good chunk of the steps are “and then the country surrenders to the overwhelming might of the Russian military”.
More specifically, there’s now a generation of people who didn’t get their ass beat for using their left hand (this was surprisingly common up through the fucking 90s in some places) and now they want leisure goods that are left-hand-capable.
You would be incorrect. Many wealthier high schools put a ton of money into their sports facilities and equipment. Several HS in my state operate 10-thousand-plus-seating stadiums that look a lot like collegiate or semiprofessional facilities.
No no, don’t try to boil it down to “they want us fighting each other”. Those wealthy people, and a good chunk of those poorer people, actually truly believe in the things they are saying. A lot of them TRULY, DEEPLY BELIEVE that they have to shout this and spread the word because the stakes are nothing less than literal life and death.
Also, unless you’ve got a way to pay rent or a house you own, good luck getting on housing assistance. Most cities have a waiting list months or years long - I know last time I had to look into it for myself, it was something like 15 months of waiting for a potential open slot anywhere in the city.
