Huh neat.
oh neat I had no idea. Yeah they do feel like a novelization of a JRPG
Oooh I love the artstyle. I would really love to see an anime adaptation of Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn or Stormlight series I feel like they would translate really well to anime.
I just assume I could possibly be filmed in public wherever I am whether crossing the street or watching some obscure local punk band in a dive bar. Do I like it? Not necessarily, but in the age of mass surveilance and ubiquitous smartphones it’s not something I can really control in any way outside knowing it is there and obscuring my face when doing cool shit.
Had that happen on hexbear too

No we are not lacking in desire to solve these problems, they are baked into the capitalist mode of production. This is excruciatingly white/western chauvinist perspective.
These modes of exploitation are dependent on incredible violence to repress the billions of people that desire to overturn the capitalist order in favor of something more humane.
Maybe stop having the CIA kill left wing revolutionary movements and stop sanctioning and doing everything possible to sabotage successful ones?
Like 90% of all food insecurity lies at the feet of western imperialism and extractive and coercive trade agreements.
Guessing that isn’t the answer the stenographers of empire over at MSN are looking for.
I’ve even heard people tell they’re designed to keep government and federal agents away.
more likely that they are trying to stay off the radar of big ip holders. That is who would shine the feds eye of sauron on you and if the feds want to look at your files they will.

I regret to make you aware of a comment above in this very thread from someone trying to do exactly that.

Okay so what are cops?
Are cops just the ones on the beat, in uniform, harassing the unhoused, killing protestors or just innocent people caught in the gears of capital? I think most of us would say no, obviously not. There are also detectives and all manner of plain clothes officers, but there are also all the prosecutors, the judges, the DAs etc.
These are all surely also cops, right? After all, we call her Kopmala for a reason. So what about landlords then? Do they not slot neatly into this power structure? Are they not just a half step removed from that legitimized arm of violence that is the state enforcing property rights?
Can your landlord inspect your home? Can they decide on a whim to utilize that violent arm of the state to kick you out on the street if they feel that you are not adequately maintaining - or even better, improving - the value of their property?
In all of these ways the landlord is more of a cop than the DA or the judge.
Not all cops wear badges or uniforms.
I don’t dislike Russians. I am also curious of your definition of “authoritarian.” I am pro-liberation and pro-revolution, both things which would require a change in authority, either the colonized or the otherwise oppressed exerting their “authority” over their oppressors. Revolutions are by nature authoritarian. Also most of those things should be reviled and are not contradictory.
Sorry I am at work I’ll give you something meatier when I get home.
I would just tell her that you should really not ever “create an account for your newborn child” who may not want their whole childhood documented on the internet forever later on in their life.
For all you know they may not turn out to keep being your daughter forever. It’s kind of a gross overstepping of parental boundaries and something that should be left for them to decide.
This doesn’t mean you can’t keep records in case they want them in the future but as someone that grew up well before all this social media stuff it sort of terrifies me regarding the privacy and agency of younger generations.
Makes me glad I have always been extremely averse to having any sort of photos of me or any of my personal information anywhere online that I did not post till well into my 30s.
Do with this information what you will but I had that boundary crossed just with photos and such shared around way before I had any way to consent to it and some aspects still make me feel violated to this day and there is nothing I can do about it.
