Much of the world is moving in that direction. The many crises of recent years and an uncertain future outlook for humanity are fertile ground for extremists promising easy solutions and “going back to the good old days”.

Source? In Germany at least that’s not the case, it’s mainly the conservatives who push for it. In the original vote, only the greens clearly opposed it. Later on, SPD (center-left) and FDP (liberal) changed course to also oppose it. Couldn’t find results for other countries though, so I’m genuinely curious.
Either way they can just give it a new name and change some details to propose it again. Like how they made it “voluntary” this time (but you can only send text if you don’t agree).
Nice. I guess they didn’t expect to get a majority to support it anymore. Definitely a win for now, but I’m sure they’ll try again.
Vegetarian here. It’s not something I’d personally buy or use in meals, as I don’t really have the desire to eat meat. That said, if it happened to be in a dish I really want to try at a restaurant, sure I’d eat it.
Was pretty much the other way round for me, realized around age 25 or so that I’d spend the later part of my life feeling like shit with constant back problems if I didn’t get out more. So these days I make a point of getting out on my bike or going on longer walks at least a couple times a week. Not for looks or women, but for myself.
If you have a short-ish email address, someone might have just set it as their recovery address by mistake. I also have a pretty old, short gmail address and people have registered it as their recovery address before, so I would get mails whenever they logged in on a new device etc. Don’t think those were phishing attempts, just people being technologically inept.
Anything is theoretically possible on a closed source operating system. But it’s not likely. First of all, this “feature” is only compatible with “Copilot+” PCs, so your system probably won’t even get it. It also would run foul of privacy laws in in many places. Especially if they did that while claiming the screenshots only stay local. That’d be a huge lawsuit waiting to happen.
I wouldn’t start with retro hardware, those systems have a lot of quirks and limitations that will make development much harder than it needs to be for your first projects. Instead I’d suggest using a modern toolkit like Gamemaker if you want to avoid programming, or an engine like Godot. Lots of good tutorials available for either.
Man, the state of the games industry is just sad to see. Also makes me question my career working in an adjacent field, despite my job being safe for now…
Those 2019 people were just another year away from finding out what an actually crazy year looks like.
Sources state Glance will not capture data, but will instead leverage a user’s “patterns” to offer recommendations.
Those “patterns” are literally data. What a nonsensical sentence.
IMO the story is not really worse than the games’ writing. Fallout as a universe never really made sense. So for me, it being fun and campy is enough and just what I’d expect of a Fallout show.
Probably. His ego was hurt when he lost to Biden, I think he would have run again in any case.
The museum island in Berlin. Just so many interesting artifacts from ancient cultures, you could easily spend multiple days there. (Just don’t think too hard about what all those artifacts are doing in Berlin while you’re there…)
Where I live, it used to be Twingos instead of Beetles for some reason.
I’ve never understood the logic of “US bad, therefore that other country run by a homicidal dictator is good”. Putin’s ideology is way closer to actual fascism than Western capitalism is.
Mate, this community is more left-wing than probably 90% of online communities. If that’s already “fascist” to you, I can’t even imagine where you’d put a place like reddit. If you apply that word to everyone you disagree with, it loses all meaning.
Not still, but again. Moved back when Covid hit and my company started to allow working from home. Honestly, I prefer it. Lived in a tiny city apartment, now I live in a large house in a village, with a garden and lots of nature around. The house would be too large and expensive for my mom to live there alone, so it makes sense for both of us.
