Yep. I’d long quit the game when they finally figured it out.
Remember that time a random player DRAMATICALLY decreased load times for GTA online after finding bad code that preloaded TONS of game assets? After like, a decade?
Pepperidge Farm remembers…
Well, ideal if you’re selling soda and trying to get customers to drink as fast as possible.
That sounds a bit more logical.
Defederated instances took it too personally, it was by design. Beehaw may have jumped the gun acting quickly and we can disagree with their reasoning all we want, but that’s their prerogative to isolate/protect the community they have. It’s a feature, not a bug.
That can’t be accurate otherwise it’d be incredibly easy to have maliciously taken down “the Fediverse” long ago. There might not be a direct Fedi distinction in the law and it might be too complex for the average district attorney to understand on the surface but that doesn’t equate to “everyone is breaking the law” if something illegal shows up on a feed.
Fine by me, what they did is actually a feature of the Fediverse. People fear what they don’t understand and based on comments at the time, there was a lot of misunderstanding.
Completely fair distinction. Thanks
Just what Lemmy needs, a thread that kills engagement because megathreads don’t work. I know most of us don’t have apps with keyword filters yet (lifesaver), but I’d much rather have too much of something than not enough while trying to grow a community. Annoying growing pains over ghost town any day.
My .02
Actual hoverboards, finally.
Damn RIP
It’s not so much that it’s anime as it is Elon liking a comment about someone wanting to fuck heavily sexualized teens that look a very specific way…that happens to be in an anime.
Real tl;dw - he gives up completely because despite being in the right, CNN could bankrupt him in legal fees. Yay capitalism!
This is the way. I never realized how much better Reddit would have been if it had a Top 6 Hour choice until I got one with Lemmy.
They will adapt or be left behind, at least for a while. In fact, that might be a good thing.
Jerboa seems to crash when clicking links with the ! point but I can do it from the desktop browser. This is great!
