Spent like 80 hours in the last two weeks playing Space Exploration. Send help

Just made the switch at the end of December alongside making my new PC. Feels very refreshing to actually be in control of my own computer. I’ve barely run into any issues gaming either, which is a welcome surprise - Proton remains one of the best things Valve has ever done.

This game looks absolutely incredible. I’m not going to pre-order under any circumstances (been there, done that with these guys, lmao) but I firmly believe HG are capable of sticking the landing if they try, and if it’s all it’s cracked up to be at launch I’ll be playing the shit out of it.

I feel ya. I’ve got the same thing. Luckily I’m still young and don’t have kids so I can at least adjust my schedule consistently, but man it sucks having to get up at 6 am on the weekends. The real frustrating bit is that I could totally get up 2 hours later if only I could WFH consistently. But corporate doesn’t like remote work so I have to go into the office at least 2 days a week to sit at a computer all day and program. Wonderful world we live in

Honestly that’s fair. Dude’s getting old, I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect him to voice Mario forever. I’m glad they’ve got him as an ambassador though, for now at least. I’d imagine he’ll help whoever next voices Mario get it right so his voice isn’t too radically different.

Minetest is great. Love the FOSS nature of it as well. I don’t think it’ll ever see really mainstream adoption, due to the (intentional) lack of content without mods, but Minecraft itself could absolutely learn a thing or two from its cubic chunks system and tightly integrated modding system.

Voyager is getting an iOS native version. There’s a TestFlight version out right now, it’s really neat. Definitely scratches that Apollo itch.

Heh, yeah. In fairness though Oppenheimer’s affairs with communists did contribute to his security clearance being revoked, so it is actually somewhat relevant here.

There is a sex scene, and yeah, it actually contributes to the plot of the film. It’s because it’s not so much just a movie about the atom bomb as it is a film about Oppenheimer.

I think the confusion here stems from the fact that with historical slavery like the transatlantic slave trade, both slaves and slave owners are long dead. So the only parts of that slavery that still affect living people are the longer-lasting cultural effects, such as racial inequality.

Personally, I think we should probably be addressing those cultural effects, and that seems to generally be what these “reparations” are about? But I do agree that modern slavery is something that really needs to be addressed as well, and living slaves absolutely deserve reparations from their slavers.

Not sure I trust ISPs with this technology. I would say I’d rather just stop using the internet but seeing as I’m a software engineer that’s absolutely not possible :/
