First, I would suggest establishing a clear line between work and social, the higher up you go, the less friends you have. It’s great that you tried to help them initially and now it looks like you’re getting fucked unfortunately. I would advise staying away from these people on a social level and continue to work together professionally, clear line of separation.
Since the company was lining to performance management them, then they must have not been performing. Unfortunately in the corporate world, people are happy to palm problems off to other departments. From what I’ve read, it has been 2 years since, and not knowing how long they have been in the company, making performance management and termination a tad more complicated.
You can’t get them fired for no reason, but you can report your conversation to HR and have this logged as inappropriate and troubling. In all reputable companies there’s a whistleblower system where you can anonymously report things on ethics, mismanagement, toxic behavior etc.
In sum, keep it professional and avoid social, if they are not performing, they’ll end up getting performance managed out soon enough.
Lol that’s fucking hilarious.
Did your dad just pimp you out?
Might sound crazy, but I actually went through it all lol. For music you may want to consider the lastfm cog. I use it for movies so I have themoviedb cog and created my own letterboxd cog… not great but it works. i also use aiuser with an API, useful to get some (old) information and you can set it up to roast people or talk in a certain way for entertainment purposes. cleanup is another useful cog to quickly clean up a lot of messages quickly (delete from message ID, delete messages between message ID1 and ID2 etc). i use the system cog to get server cpu/ram/hd usage.

zero@fek.xyzOPto World News@lemmy.world•Israel is in talks to possibly resettle Palestinians from Gaza in South Sudan341·5 days agoThe nature and timing of the decisions that led to the Final Solution is an intensely researched and debated aspect of the Holocaust. The program evolved during the first 25 months of war leading to the attempt at “murdering every last Jew in the German grasp”.[5] Christopher Browning, a historian specializing in the Holocaust, wrote that most historians agree that the Final Solution cannot be attributed to a single decision made at one particular point in time.[5] “It is generally accepted the decision-making process was prolonged and incremental.”[6] In 1940, following the Fall of France, Adolf Eichmann devised the Madagascar Plan to move Europe’s Jewish population to the French colony, but the plan was abandoned for logistical reasons, mainly a naval blockade.[7] There were also preliminary plans to deport Jews to Palestine and Siberia.[8] Raul Hilberg wrote that, in 1941, in the first phase of the mass-murder of Jews, the mobile killing units began to pursue their victims across occupied eastern territories; in the second phase, stretching across all of German-occupied Europe, the Jewish victims were sent on death trains to centralized extermination camps built for the purpose of systematic murder of Jews.[9]
From Wikipedia. Sounds a lot like what Israel is doing now.

Chip Sales to China8·7 days agoOn Wednesday, Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s chief executive, met with President Trump at the White House and agreed to give the federal government its 15 percent cut, essentially making the federal government a partner in Nvidia’s business in China, said the people familiar with the deal. The Commerce Department began granting licenses for A.I. chip sales two days later, these people said.
Sounds very unusual, so Nvidia is giving a kickback to the White House? No matter how I look at it, I can’t see how this isn’t a conflict of interest. I’m quite certain that someone will say the 15% kickback will be used in R&D etc to stay ahead the competitors but where do you draw the line between revenues and national interest?
Still no lossless?

It’s frustrating that too many powerful people are still holding out while it’s not too late to do something about it.
I’m implying that the powerful do nothing to help the Palestinians because they have nothing to gain out of it. Just like all the other countries with starving people and wars going on that don’t get much coverage. They will suffer and die because the powerful people have decided they are not worth saving.

It’s horrific to realize this is all happening in real time, in front of us yet, as unthinkable as Gaza is, it’s tragically not isolated. Places like Sudan and Mali etc are also facing famine and conflict, often unfold off the front page. It’s overwhelming, but I believe that bearing witness, and refusing to look away even when our understanding falls short, is still essential.
It protects you from the collector.
