I love how adding violence will help with your safety. You could be the first case ever.

The only promise of protection you get in this world is porpotional to the amount of violence you are known to be capable of, and sometimes not even then. Protect yourselves, we aren’t out of the dark ages yet.

You added much to this conversation. Thank you for this quintessential insight into why my position is correct.

Yeah I’m trying to build my body to be cute and fuckable, not combat ready.

Until cis men get their shit together, you can eat my ass about being a quivering shitbag.

I’ll add someone to the daily list of 132 people that die by gunshot in the US, if it means I don’t have to double down on being a part of the nearly quarter of women who have been sexually assaulted.

              You go girl.

Make sure you know your local and state laws for de-escalation and use of deadly force, Stand your ground laws and such.

After that, train. The last thing you want is to flub up something in a high pressure situation. It needs to be second nature to be effective.

              That’s my most general advice.

Beyond that, you’ll find everyone has an opinion about carry options

An everyday carry gun should be reliable and comfortable.

              *Gun not fun lmao

Education is a big one to me. Through a series of unfortunate events I’ve become the owner of a number of guns, but I haven’t done much other than make sure they’re all unloaded and locked up in the safe.

I gotta figure out some local classes or something, the base NRA one my state reqs is shit, and even if it wasn’t, was taught by some boomer who shouldn’t have guns.

Not only did he sweep me with a barrel several times, he somehow had multiple stories of him needing his gun in defense. Except he didn’t because he never used it other than to scare people. Also literally every story about it started with a phrase to the effect of: “so there was this black guy…”

I really don’t want to be one of those cock-knockers who walks around being a danger to themselves and others for an ego trip.
