For example, I don’t use TikTok. I never have, and I never will, and I’d advise everyone else to get off the platform too. I genuinely believe it’s objectively harmful to people’s mental health and possibly even a threat to democracy. That said, I also believe people should be free to decide for themselves whether they want to use it or not, which is why I’m against the U.S. government banning it.
Just seems like an odd thing to get defensive about.
And it seems odd to me to use a platform to talk about how much you dislike it.

It’s painful to see the technically adept push away everyone away.
The reason I was/am still here (for now) is this was the only true FoSS platform. I don’t like that bluesky and meta are our best hope at an open platform.
But yeah fuck me for pointing out that this user base is toxic doomers who have poor communication skills.
