    This is like tax residency. Even if you are just on a visitor visa, if you stay for longer than six months, you have to pay taxes after your income, no matter the source, to the federal government.

    Taiwan is a tariff country.

      The country, Taiwan is not paying anything to US for the exports, US tariffs are paid for by Americans, It is basically a fancy discriminatory (by country and goods) GST/VAT tax.
